Community Choice Healthcare Network is one of three Pilot Projects to Test Consumer Managed Health Records Banks.

Cashmere, August 20, 2008 – Community Choice Healthcare Network based out of Cashmere has been awarded $551,448.00.

Starting in early 2009, more than 18,000 Washingtonians in three different communities will have the opportunity to organize and manage access to their own health information under separate health record bank pilot project grants from the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). The three community grant recipients announced by the HCA include: Spokane-based Inland Northwest Health Services, Cashmere-based Community Choice Healthcare Network, and Bellingham-based St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and The Critical Junctures Institute.

“Most North Central Washington healthcare providers have embraced healthcare technology at impressive levels. Community Choice is fortunate to work with the healthcare leaders in our region to improve access, quality and safety in the delivery of healthcare,” said Jesus Hernandez, Executive Director of Community Choice, PHCO.

Community Choice’s strategic partners will be Microsoft HealthVault, Community Health Network and the following healthcare organizations in our region: Central Washington Hospital, Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, Lake Chelan Clinic, Brewster Medical Center, Columbia Valley Community Health, North Valley Hospital, and Quincy Valley Medical Center. Community Choice will be engaging the participation of additional healthcare organizations and communities in future phases of this consumer focused project.

Community Choice Healthcare Network is a Physician, Hospital, and Community Organization serving North Central Washington with services helping people access healthcare benefits and facilitating implementation of health information technology among healthcare partners.
